We are seeking an Installer (Improver) to join our team in the North East- covering Middlesborough to Newcastle. At KONE, an Improver is typically an entry-level or training role within the installation team.

The position involves supporting qualified installers with on-site work while learning the trade. An Improver assists with tasks such as preparing materials, handling tools and equipment, maintaining a safe and organised site, and helping with basic installation activities under supervision. The role is focused on developing technical skills, understanding KONE installation methods, and gaining experience in safety practices, quality standards, and customer interaction.

In short, it’s a stepping-stone role designed to build experience and progress toward becoming a fully qualified installer.

• Assist qualified installers with on-site work and learn KONE installation methods
• Prepare materials, handle tools and equipment, and maintain a safe, organised site
• Support basic installation activities under supervision
• Develop technical skills, safety practices, and quality standards
• Engage with customers professionally and contribute to a positive on-site experience

• Mechanical and Electrical Engineering experience
• A full UK driver’s license
