Performing Arts Roles/ Dance Instructor
The part‑time Fine Arts faculty is an instructional position directly responsible to the Director North Service Area Campus and the Department Chair, Fine Arts. The instructor’s primary duties and responsibilities are teaching students at the Gatesville Prison Units and performing a variety of administrative duties.
Compensation is based on type of course and number of students, paid by Part time employment agreement.
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Fine Arts related to the coursework to be taught.
Teaching experience at the post‑secondary or secondary level in Fine Arts preferred.
Courses to be taught include ARTS-1301, ARTS-1303, ARTS-1304, DRAM-1310, DRAM-2366, HUMA-1315, MUSI-1306.
- Must possess a demonstrated knowledge in the subject matter being taught and the ability to communicate with students in a clear manner and to author tests and lesson plans.
- Must possess the ability to provide academic and vocational guidance to students as needed.
- Must be organized and follow strict timelines for attendance and grading assignments.
- Teach courses according to syllabi and textbooks as approved by the department.
- Advise students and assist them in obtaining their educational goals. Hold office hours.
- Adhere to assigned class time schedule.
- Advise Gatesville office of needed supplies, books equipment, typing and printing within 72 hours of needed time.
- Maintain and submit certification rosters and final grade books by deadline set by registrar.
- Provide statistical information to office as requested.
- Keep supervisor informed of any student needs and problems.
- Track attendance and post final grades in a timely manner.
