Equans is looking for a 3rd Class, Refrigeration Class A Stationary Engineer (temporary) in Gatineau.

Job Summary
As part of the Energy Services Acquisition Program (ESAP) the third-class Plant shift Supervisor operates, maintains and repairs a wide range of equipment of two 3rd class Central Heating & Cooling Plants, and Electrical Substation and Pump House as part of a large District Energy System (DES). The DES comprises several Stationary Engineers which brings on exciting career advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance and repairs of Plant equipment (Boilers, controls, chillers, pumps, HVAC, steam systems, Pump House equipment, Electrical Substation, Energy Transfer Stations (ETS), etc.).

Test Plant equipment; maintain and clean machinery, equipment and building during operations.

As per applicable regulations and during hours of work/shifts, execute required operations and maintain performances of Power Plant machinery and equipment including gas-fired boilers, electric hot water boilers, chilled water plant, electric motors, fans, pumps, air compressors, piping. Monitor/adjust equipment.

Prioritizes a good working relationship and client satisfaction.

Carry out operations and startup procedures of the Central Plants, Pump House, electrical Substation and their preventive maintenance, analyses and make the necessary recommendations and adjustments.

Follow up on work with external contractors and maintain EQUANS Health & Safety Standards.

Perform daily rounds and inspections, maintain energy efficiency by recording and analyzing energy consumption.

Maintain a high standard of water treatment.

Requirements / Qualifications

Authorized to work in Canada

Ability to pass all background checks and security screenings

Certificate as a stationary machinery mechanic:
Class 3 in heating, Class A in refrigeration

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a stationary equipment mechanic

Autonomy;
Able to work independently and as part of a team

Dynamism, team spirit, and leadership

Good judgment, attention to detail

Service-oriented, courteous;
Maintain relationships with suppliers and customers

Knowledge of control system operations

Eligibility to obtain a Level II security clearance from the federal government
