Shift Information
The shift is 12 hours from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, working every other weekend shift.
Position SummaryThe Bilingual On-the-Job Trainer (OJT) provides and coordinates on-the-job training to employees in plant and department equipment, standard work instructions, and assists in developing and delivering other training such as orientation, quality assurance, safety, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee and implement the Employee Training Qualification Program, including training and validation of trainees against established objectives and recommending additional skill requirements.
- Develop OJT training programs and participate in teams developing training plans.
- Assist in developing Standard Work Instructions, checklists, and visual aids.
- Conduct new employee orientation, OJT/classroom training and certification; follow up on a regular schedule to answer questions and verify proficiency.
- Conduct cross training and re-qualification as required by the Training Qualification Program; support employees who have questions or need additional assistance in understanding their job responsibilities.
- Maintain files of training materials and organized logs/matrixes of all training conducted.
- When not training or producing, assist in problem solving, continuous improvement, safety programs/training, cross training of operators, checking procedure and accuracy, and general housekeeping.
- Attend training seminars, some of which may require out-of-town or overnight arrangements.
- Perform all training in full compliance with company, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Notify personnel of any irregularities in materials, process, or equipment.
- Assist with development, implementation, and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans.
- Ensure monthly safety and other compliance trainings and all other required training are provided for all employees.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and maintain product quality.
- Report conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
- Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma required; mechanical or trade school a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Knowledge of adult education and learning techniques.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding compliance training requirements.
- Ability to multitask, work with employees from diverse backgrounds, and solve problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word).
- Basic math skills.
- Customer service capabilities.
- Light typing skills.
- Ability to work indoors in normal office setting and/or processing floor for duration of shift.
- Ability to answer phones and receive pertinent information.
Pay range: $25.50 to $30.60 per hour.
