You arrive to your workcell, review the day’s build plan, and load castings and bars for the first run. You set up and verify CNC lathes (Haas/Fanuc), check tooling condition, and confirm offsets. As cycles run, you monitor alarms, troubleshoot issues, and keep material flowing to hit schedule and quality targets. Throughout the shift, you gauge threads with GO/NO-GO tools, record measurements, and capture production data.

When you see a deviation, you dive into root cause analysis—5 Whys, data review, and collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and Safety—to stabilize the process. You document learnings, propose countermeasures, and help implement improvements that strengthen our production system. You finish the day updating performance metrics and noting opportunities to kaizen tomorrow’s work.

What you’ll doSet up, operate, and monitor production machines, assembly cells, and related processes using standard work and technical drawings.

Respond to alarms, troubleshoot, and maintain steady flow to meet daily production, quality, and safety goals.

Install, maintain, and monitor tooling and supplies to ensure optimal performance and part quality.

Gauge, measure, and record production data; ensure quality in-process.

Partner with manufacturing engineering, production, and safety to resolve issues and elevate processes.

Track metrics, surface issues, and recommend improvements that drive continuous improvement.

Apply structured problem solving (root cause analysis) to remove obstacles and close gaps.

Minimum qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
2+ years setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting thread-cutting machines—CNC lathes with Haas and/or Fanuc controls preferred.

Demonstrated experience performing detailed root cause analysis on process failures, quality issues, or customer complaints.

Bonus: forklift driving, non-CNC machining, and grinding experience.

Background in lean manufacturing.

Requirements Proof of full COVID vaccination or waiver
* Reliable on-site availability in Geneva, IL, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pmLift up to 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours daily

Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
General mechanical aptitude

Compensation & benefits

Salary Range: $28.00 - $35.00 Based on experience & qualifications.
