Job Summary
The Young Life Staff Associate I role focuses on leading and developing ministry teams, raising resources, and supporting the organization’s mission of evangelism and discipleship with young people. The annual base salary ranges from $32,670.00 to $40,885.00, and personal fundraising is required.
Ministry Functions- Spiritual Development
:
Lead prayer and spiritual disciplines, foster relationships within the church community, and guide individuals and teams in spiritual growth. - Leadership Development
:
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer leaders; build effective teams; develop and implement a yearly ministry strategy. - Resource Development
:
Raise funds through events, major donor care, and public relations; maintain donor relationships and provide ministry updates. - Direct Ministry
:
Facilitate contact work, run Young Life clubs and Campaigners programs, and lead summer and school‐season camp initiatives. - Ministry Support
:
Handle accounting, administration, communication, data management, and strategic planning; ensure compliance with policies and maintain accurate records.
Core Training includes Phase One programs:
New Staff Training, Leadership I & II, Apologetics, and a Winter Training course, completed within the first two years. Training may be supervised by regional or area leaders. A college degree is preferred.
- Experience in direct ministry with adolescents.
- Strong relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
The role requires working in outdoor camp environments with extreme heat or cold, dirt, long hours, and physical demands such as hiking, horseback riding, and boating. Staff must be able to handle these conditions.
