Staff Accountant

Job Description

Marklund in Geneva is hiring a Staff Accountant. This is a full‑time position based out of the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, IL. The schedule is Monday‑Friday from 8:00 AM‑4:00 PM. Salary ranges from $65,000‑$70,000 based on qualifications and experience. A hybrid option is available with two work‑from‑home days a week after completion of the 90‑day training period.

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational, and therapy services to individuals with profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. The organization operates two residential locations: the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin. Marklund also offers day programs for children, young adults, and adults, both on‑site and in the community.

• Review and approve account distributions for A/P vouchers.
• Verify cash receipts for Marklund versus check log.
• Reconcile all bank statements.
• Acquire and maintain skills to run the accounting software utilized by Marklund.
• Process fixed assets.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile charity cash receipts.
• Prepare for assigned audit schedules.
• Participate in budget preparation.
• Prepare assigned cost report schedules.

• 2 or more years of accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
