In accordance with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plans of the organization, and in collaboration with the Vice President of Nursing and the Director of Education/Dean, the Assistant Director of Education provides operational and strategic oversight of the Education Department across the organization, including the long-term care division. This role supports the development and advancement of the department's strategic direction and ensures the delivery of effective education, competency development, and performance improvement initiatives.
The Assistant Director promotes collaboration, team development, and customer-focused education services while supporting organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
Education
Required:
* Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
Preferred:
* Doctorate (PhD, DNP, or related doctoral degree) in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution.
Licensure & Certifications
Required:
* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
* Moderate sedation competency (must be obtained within six months of hire).
Experience
Required:
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
* At least three (3) years of leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.
* Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an educator teaching programs related to acute and/or long-term care.
Preferred:
* Experience in curriculum development, program evaluation, or accreditation processes.
* Experience working across multiple clinical sites or healthcare systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
* Ability to analyze data and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
* Proficiency in computer-based applications and educational technologies.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to travel between multiple locations within the same day.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of personal and professional performance.
