Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Geneva, NY | 15-week Travel Nurse Assignment
Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Geneva, NY (14456). 15-week travel nurse assignment starting March 30, 2026. Seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN or Travel RN with New York licensure, BLS/ACLS, and NIHSS to join a supportive team in the Finger Lakes region.
Job Details- Location: Geneva, NY (14456) – Finger Lakes region, New York travel nursing opportunity
- Assignment Type: Travel, On-Site (Travel Nurse / Travel RN)
- Unit: Med/Surg 3 North (Medical/Surgical)
- Start Date: March 30, 2026
- End Date: July 11, 2026
- Duration: 15 weeks
- Schedule: Part time – 2x12 hour rotating day and/or night shifts per week (variable); every other weekend and holiday required
- On Call: 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks
- Orientation: Full shift orientation required on Monday and Tuesday (2x12 hour shifts)
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required for New York travel nursing)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI only, required)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a Med/Surg environment (Med/Surg RN or equivalent)
- Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills relevant to Med/Surg nursing jobs
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients admitted for medical conditions
- Assess patient and family needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Provide direct patient care, monitor clinical progress, and adjust care plans as necessary
- Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and safe post-discharge instructions
- Promote a healing environment by offering emotional support and comfort to patients and families
- Advocate for patient safety, rights, and well-being in all care activities
- Delegate tasks appropriately, mentor colleagues, and support nursing team development
- Accurately document care provided and patient/family responses in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety protocols, and hospital policies
