Minimum of one year serving in an Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse
License:
Valid RN licensure

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Must-Have:
- Valid Client RN Licensure
- One year of experience in an Endoscopy environment

Description:

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills in delivering compassionate care to patients and families.

The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs and develops a collaborative plan of care with the interdisciplinary team.

Direct patient care is provided, and progress is evaluated while coordinating care delivery throughout the patient's episode.

The Endoscopy RN develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted with medical conditions.

Care is provided to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with diverse medical needs.

The Endoscopy RN is accountable for patient and family education to promote understanding of self-care beyond hospitalization.

This includes lifestyle changes supporting health and healing.

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse promotes comfort and emotional support in a healing environment.

Nursing knowledge and skills are applied in care delivery.

Patient and family needs are assessed through active listening and analyzing information obtained through observation and communication.

An individualized, culturally relevant plan of care is created, addressing identified health problems.

Goals are set and monitored with collaboration from patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.

Adjustments to the plan are made based on patient responses or changes in conditions.

Patient health, safety, and rights are promoted and protected.

Mutual trust and respect among team members are encouraged for optimal patient outcomes.

Teaching and delegation of tasks are conducted consistent with individuals' education and scope of practice.

Personal responsibility for public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies is understood.

Patients and families are motivated by teaching necessary for ongoing care and healing at home.

Learning styles are assessed to maximize educational understanding.

Key points in the self-care process are reinforced, and tools for family support after discharge are provided.

Documentation of education provided and patient/family responses is completed.

Quality and effectiveness of nursing practice are systematically evaluated.

Results of quality improvement activities are used to initiate changes in individual practice.

Self-evaluation of practice is engaged, identifying strengths and areas for professional development.

Accountability for increasing knowledge and enhancing skills is taken.

Logic and reasoning are applied to identify strengths and weaknesses of various solutions.

Nursing practice reflects the importance of making meaningful connections with patients and families.

A trusting and caring relationship is developed through engagement and anticipation of patient needs.

The central focus of all care and services is the patient and family.

The importance of creating a healing environment is embraced as a key element of professional nursing practice.

Skill in medication administration and other interventions is demonstrated.

Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.
