Description:
The Certified Nursing Assistant's responsibilities include meeting residents' Activities of Daily Living (ADL) needs as outlined in the plan of care. Assists with hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence and catheter care, elimination and toileting needs, turning and positioning, and skin care. Ensures documentation is completed per protocol. Maintains residents' environment and safety according to the plan of care and policies. Responds promptly to call lights and alarms.
Implements safety measures including use of safety mats and low beds. Monitors the cleanliness of the unit and participates in behavior and fall prevention strategies. Documents incidents and concerns according to protocol. Addresses residents' nutritional needs in accordance with the plan of care. Facilitates meal delivery, tray preparation, and feeding while honoring residents' preferences and choices. Provides rehabilitative support, including range of motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, and proper body alignment.
Reports residents' rights, refusals, and concerns to the Charge Nurse in a timely manner. Identifies and communicates changes in residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial status promptly. Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is anticipated, with potential contact involving blood, body fluids, or tissues.
