Full-Time Night Nurse Supervisor/Clinical Leader
This is a direct hire position for a full-time night nurse supervisor/clinical leader. The role involves providing clinical leadership and assistance to nurses in delivering nursing care to patients of all age groups. You will coordinate clinical activities across the acute care setting during evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. The position includes consultation to nursing staff to ensure consistent integration of services for patients and families.
You will collaborate with nursing management and staff to monitor staffing levels in accordance with patient acuity. Support for nurses in managing clinical and administrative emergencies is included. Facilitating competency assessment and staff development needs for nursing staff is also required. You will provide leadership support through mentoring, communication, and role modeling of professional nursing practices. Participation in nursing leadership committees, seminars, and problem-solving groups to enhance patient care delivery is expected.
You will create an environment that supports staff professional development and evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare delivery during assigned shifts. Professional coaching and mentoring will be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure accountability for professional practice and base decisions on ethical principles. Constructive problem-solving and innovative resolution creation with nursing leadership and staff will be necessary. Timely responses to customer complaints will be expected.
You will systematically evaluate nursing practice quality and maintain accountability for the clinical application of standards and protocols. Maintaining effective communication and collegial relationships within the organization and healthcare community is essential. You will develop mechanisms for regular communication with nursing managers and other nursing leaders as required. Applying decision-making principles to prioritize patient care needs against staff skills is critical to the role.
Allocating resources to promote safe and compassionate nursing care based on current standards will be your responsibility. You should identify resources to ensure interventions are safe, effective, efficient, and culturally sensitive. There is potential occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens, and required tasks involve contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
