About The Team You Are Joining The Sustainability and Economics Division’s mission is to strive for air transportation’s financial and environmental sustainability. This is a dynamic Division in an effervescent field, where we rely on our analytical strengths and privileged access to airline data to produce stellar research and analysis and provide thought leadership for our industry.

We integrate sustainability in all our thinking and endeavours.
The division is seeking an Intern to facilitate the organization and delivery of activities pertaining to the IATA CORSIA Eligible Emissions Units (CEEU) Supporting Alliance, a global multi-stakeholder initiative established to help address the current shortage of CORSIA-eligible carbon credits and enable the successful implementation of the first phase of CORSIA. The Alliance brings together governments, airlines, carbon market stakeholders, project developers, standards bodies, and technical partners to increase the supply of CEEUs, improve implementation of Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, and facilitate high-integrity carbon market participation.
Working across teams within the division, the intern will contribute to Alliance activities focused on Article 6 authorization for CORSIA, collaboration across carbon crediting standards, implementation assistance for host countries, by supporting stakeholder engagement and market intelligence. The role provides direct exposure to global aviation climate policy, carbon credit markets, Article 6 implementation, and international collaboration supporting aviation’s decarbonization efforts.
Through this role, the intern will help strengthen the Alliance's efforts to mobilize stakeholders, support host-country readiness, improve information sharing, and contribute to expanding high-integrity CORSIA Eligible Emissions Units needed to support airline compliance and aviation's climate commitments.
What Your Day Would Be Like
  • Support Alliance stakeholder engagement and coordination by organizing quarterly meetings, maintaining participant databases, preparing briefing materials, and tracking actions involving governments, airlines, carbon market participants, and Compact signatories.
  • Support implementation assistance activities for host countries by preparing and coordinating meetings and supporting the development of materials (e.g., background research, country profiles, guidance materials, and resources related to Article 6.2 reporting and CORSIA-compatible authorizations).
  • Monitor and analyze CEEU supply developments by tracking market intelligence, host country authorizations, Letters of Authorization (LoAs), Article 6.2 developments, and trends affecting the Alliance objective of scaling CEEU supply to 225–250 million units by 2027.
  • Develop communications and outreach materials to raise awareness of CORSIA opportunities, carbon market developments, Alliance achievements, and stakeholder participation opportunities at industry and climate events.
