European Gas Analyst​/Strategist

Job Overview

As part of the European Gas team the Quantitative European Gas Analyst will provide fundamental and statistical analysis of the European gas markets. Candidates should have strong quantitative skills and programming capability in Python.

KS&T, with offices in Geneva, London and its head office in the US, is a global commodity trading company that focuses on petroleum and energy markets.

The Quantitative Gas Analyst will work as part of a team of traders and analysts.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Lead fundamental analysis of European gas markets, linking the EU market to the wider global LNG complex.
• Maintain and develop current supply and demand stack models.
• Provide analytical insight to developing existing and future strategy.
• Manage data inputs and sources for gas analysis.
• Maintain and support fundamental research on power and gas markets for Koch.

• Strong knowledge of statistical techniques and applications.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem‑solving skills.
• Good knowledge and proven application of weather fundamentals in gas markets.
• Previous experience in European gas market fundamental, statistical or quantitative analysis.
• Programming experience in at least one of the following languages:
  Matlab, R, VBA, or Python.
• Bachelor's degree.

• Pro‑active and capable of working independently to meet project deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to explain complex quantitative approaches in non‑technical language.
• High level of intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
