Senior Policy Consultant – Chilean Taxonomy Implementation

UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is seeking a Senior Policy Consultant to lead the Chilean Taxonomy Implementation project (Project Lead). The role involves developing technical guidance, coordinating with subject‑matter experts and key stakeholders, and ensuring sustainable finance taxonomy adoption in Chile.

• Lead Phase I: prepare the financial (banking) sector for the implementation of the Chilean Taxonomy, including testing, piloting, and evaluating its application in banking portfolios and processes.
• Lead Phase II: develop a roadmap for the regulatory adoption of the Chilean Taxonomy, linking it with broader sustainable finance policy components and working toward a binding requirement aligned with local needs.
• Coordinate closely with the Financial Market Commission (Comisión para el Mercado Financiero) and the Superintendency of Pensions (Superintendencia de Pensiones).
• Provide technical support and expertise to the Sustainable Finance Regulation Expert for the Chilean Taxonomy and ensure successful project execution.

• Extensive experience in implementing the European Union Taxonomy within the banking sector.
• Deep understanding of sustainable finance principles and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
