The Relationship Manager will be responsible for originating, developing, and managing a portfolio of commodity traders active in the Energy sector
, with a focus on transactional commodity trade finance and structured trade finance. Based in Geneva, you will be part of the Energy desk
, and your role will consist in building long-term client relationships while ensuring compliance with credit, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of trading companies active in crude oil, oil products and petrochemicals trading
. - Maintain high-quality client relationships and act as the main point of contact for day-to-day banking needs. Contribute to revenue growth while maintaining disciplined risk management.
- Originate new business opportunities in commodity trade finance
, including transactional and structured facilities such as: - Import/export financing
- Borrowing base facilities
- Guarantees
- Inventory financing
- Prepare and present credit proposals, annual reviews, and transaction requests.
- Monitor client performance, exposures, collateral, repayment sources, and transaction flows.
- Work closely with credit, risk, compliance, legal, operations, and treasury teams.
- Ensure transactions comply with internal policies, KYC, AML, sanctions, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor market trends affecting metals, logistics, pricing, counter parties, and geopolitical risks.
- Strong experience in relationship management in corporate banking, ideally in
trade commodity finance and a strong commercial mindset with robust risk awareness. - 5–10 years of relevant experience in banking, trade finance, or commodity finance (Account officers with proven credit analysis background may be considered).
- Existing network within energy trading houses, producers, or commodity merchants would be a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of Swiss banking regulations, AML/KYC standards, and international trade documentation.
- A good understanding of the energy flows and energy markets would be an asset Understanding of credit risk, transactional risk, collateral structures, and commodity flows is needed.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client‑facing skills.
- Fluent in English and French
