The role is responsible for supporting and executing trade finance activities across the company’s global trading operations, ensuring efficient financing structures, accurate cost management, timely transaction execution and compliance with applicable trade finance regulations and company policies. The position maintains effective relationships with banks and financial institutions and coordinates closely with Trading, Operations, Treasury, Accounting and other internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the execution of trade finance activities related to global trading transactions, including letters of credit, bank guarantees and other trade finance instruments.
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions and support negotiations on financing terms, credit facilities and other trade finance requirements.
- Assess and recommend suitable credit and financing terms for trade transactions.
- Calculate and monitor trade finance and financing costs and communicate estimated and final costs to relevant internal teams.
- Ensure trade finance processes and transactions are executed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timelines.
- Review and manage trade finance documentation and ensure alignment with contractual and financing requirements.
- Monitor international trade finance regulations and relevant ICC rules and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Prepare trade finance-related reports and analysis and provide relevant information to management and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Trading, Operations, Treasury, Accounting and other relevant teams to ensure smooth execution of trade finance activities.
- Support the resolution of discrepancies and disputes involving customers, suppliers, banks and other financial institutions.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for Trade Finance Executive and 7 years for Senior Trade Finance Executive.
- Practical knowledge of trade finance operations, including Letters of Credit (L/Cs) and various payment methods.
- Good understanding of international trade practices and trade finance processes.
- Knowledge of ICC rules, including UCP 600, URC 522, ISBP and URDG 758, and Incoterms is a plus.
- CDCS certification is a plus.
- Advanced level of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a complex, fast-paced trading environment.
- Proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach with a strong commitment to compliance and business ethics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with relevant trade finance, ERP or financial systems is a plus.
