About the team you are joining

IATA’s Aeronautical Charges team within the Operations, Safety and Security division, is made up of dedicated subject matter experts, based in strategic locations globally, and collaboratively engage in campaigns and activities aimed at supporting IATA’s priorities. The team values collaboration, consistency and high quality standards, as it works alongside internal and external stakeholders to drive efficiency, transparency and cost-effectiveness for IATA member airlines.

You will assume responsibility for providing strategic leadership and support for IATA’s global advocacy initiatives in relation to aeronautical charges; including those associated to airports and air navigation service providers (ANSP’s). As a subject matter expert on aeronautical charging schemes and regulatory frameworks, you will help shape and support IATA’s advocacy positions, contribute their expertise towards high-impact initiatives and strengthen collaboration between key stakeholders up to and including, airlines, regulators, and relevant institutions and associations.

What

your day would be like Strategic Leadership and Team Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a team tasked to engage and deliver on IATA’s aeronautical charges advocacy strategy, with a focus on accountability management, collaboration, productivity and consistency in terms of quality standards, communication and transparency.

Assume responsibility for the team’s strategic approach, performance, and capacity to deliver on its advocacy plans.

Develop, communicate and support the adoption of industry positions and recommended practices.

Advocacy and Industry Engagement

Define and execute advocacy strategies related to aeronautical charges, with a focus on economic regulation, cost efficiency, privatization, concession models, sustainability-linked charging mechanisms (e.g., CO₂ and noise) etc.

Partner with IATA’s Corporate Communications team to develop and execute communication strategies that articulate IATA’s positions, objectives, initiatives and achievements.

Deliver high-quality briefings, reports, and presentations for senior management, IATA governance bodies, and external stakeholders.

Represent IATA and its members in consultations with Airports, ANSPs, Governments and Regulatory Authorities on charging schemes, terms and policies to safeguard IATA’s members interests.

As IATA Secretary for the Airport and ANSP Charges Working Group (AAWG), contribute to IATA governance bodies and industry working groups to ensure alignment between global and regional priorities.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), regional regulators, and industry associations to shape the future of Airport and ANSP Economic oversight.

Budgetary Responsibility and Commercial Value

Support the ongoing enhancements of commercial products and initiatives such as IATA’s Aviation Charges Intelligence Center (ACIC), the development of IATA publications, guidance material and training programs.
