Context & mission

Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

The Project Manager will spearhead the design, delivery, and oversight of the Smart Energy Monitoring initiative within MSF’s Transformational Investment Capacity (TIC) program. This flagship project seeks to transform how MSF manages energy across its operations by leveraging innovative technologies and sustainable practices to strengthen energy data collection, analysis, and governance. By enabling clearer insights into energy use, the initiative will support more accountable decision-making while laying the foundation for smarter, greener operational choices.

The project is driven by three core impact goals: improving transparency and accountability through streamlined, high-quality energy data; delivering measurable cost savings while reducing MSF’s environmental footprint through optimized energy consumption and increased use of renewables; and ensuring the system is scalable and accessible across all MSF operational centers. Implementation will follow a structured timeline, beginning with Phase 0 (2 months) for recruitment and onboarding, followed by Phase 1 (2 months) to define detailed requirements and protocols, and concluding with Phase 2 (7 months) focused on system development, pilot implementation, and final delivery.
