Electrical Cabling Project Technician (EN-EL-CS--LD)
Join the Cabling Section as an electrical technician, playing a key role in expanding, strengthening, and maintaining CERN’s control and power cable installations across the accelerator infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Analyse cable installation requests and liaise with requesters to obtain missing information.
- Conduct studies defining cable types, connectors, wire conventions, routing and mechanical supports in collaboration with users.
- Create bills of quantities and budgets.
- Organise cabling and de‑cabling campaigns with external and internal coordination stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed work documentation (drawings, cable lists, connector procedures, test procedures).
- Carry out risk assessments and define mitigation measures for safety and compliance.
- Manage logistics for cabling activities, including material delivery, scaffolding set‑up and site access.
- Organise and manage worksite meetings.
- Monitor and report progress, safety and quality of the works.
- Perform inspection, testing and acceptance of completed work.
- Technical certificate or equivalent in industrial electrical installation.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, preparing, and overseeing industrial electrical cabling activities with lockout/tagout procedures.
- Strong experience with control and power cables and their connectors.
- Experience verifying technical quality and compliance with applicable standards.
- Experience in technical supervision of contractors.
- Experience designing and manufacturing high‑voltage and low‑voltage cables and connectors.
- Ability to drive work and projects to completion.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.

Employment ConditionsContract type:
Limited duration contract (5 years), with the possibility to apply for an indefinite position.
Working hours:
40 hours per week. Job flexibility:
Hybrid. Shift work, stand‑by duty, and work during nights, Sundays and official holidays may be required.
This position involves:
- Work in Radiation Areas.
- Interventions in underground installations.
- A valid driving licence.
- Shift work, stand‑by duty, and work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organisation.
