Position: Telecom and Network Infrastructure Technician (IT-FCS-DO-2026-173-LD)
Location: Genf

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.

Job Description Introduction

Join the Deployment and Operations team in the Communication Systems and Fabric Group and contribute to the reliable connectivity that supports one of the world’s leading scientific research environments. You will coordinate and follow up telecom and network infrastructure works across CERN sites, working with contractors, users and technical teams to plan installations, check quality, ensure safety and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Contribute to safe working practices by identifying potential risks and supporting the implementation of mitigation measures in line with CERN standards.
  • Support the organisation of logistics for cabling activities, including materials, access, and required equipment.
  • Participate in worksite coordination and follow‑up meetings.
  • Track progress and help ensure that work is carried out safely and with good quality.
  • Take part in inspections and acceptance of completed work, and help keep infrastructure records up to date.
