The Role
We are hiring a lab technician who will be preparing samples and solutions, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and maintaining lab equipment. Technicians also follow strict safety protocols, document findings, and ensure the lab is clean and organized.

Key Responsibilities

Sample preparation and analysis:  Receive, label, and prepare samples (e.g chemicals) for testing.

Conducting experiments:  Perform routine and complex experiments, trials, and tests to support scientific investigations.

Data management:  Record, analyze, and interpret experimental results, and prepare detailed reports and summaries.

Equipment maintenance:  Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.

Safety and compliance:  Follow strict safety procedures and protocols and report any health and safety issues.

Inventory and organization:  Manage and maintain stock, order supplies, and keep the laboratory workspace clean and organized.

Technical support:  Provide technical support to scientists and assist in the development of new techniques and procedure

Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

Required Skills

Secondary school diploma in a technical field (chemistry/biology) or bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry or biology

Knowledge of spoken and written English

Adequate IT skills for using the internet and Office suite

Equipment and instruments

Products to be analysed

Analyses to be performed (methods, etc.)

Practice in the control, calibration and maintenance of equipment

Sample management

Practice in the collection and disposal of waste produced
