“Closer to Christ, further out for Christ”
The Parish of Chorley St George and All Saints’ comprises of two churches united by a shared vision and a deep love for our community. Together, we are seeking a priest who will walk with us as we grow in faith, mission and service.
This is a unique opportunity to serve in a parish that offers:
- A tale of two churches – St George’s, a beautiful Grade II
* listed Waterloo Church in the heart of Chorley, with a strong musical tradition, vibrant church groups, and a well-used church hall and mission hut; and All Saints’, a growing, community-focused church situated between two housing estates, with a planting curate, new congregations, and a renewed sense of purpose. - A thriving partnership with schools – Both churches have excellent relationships with their Church of England primary schools, where Christian values are lived out daily. The new vicar will be an ex-officio foundation governor and a key presence in the spiritual life of both schools.
- A parish on the move – With a planting curate, active lay ministry, and a growing youth and children’s presence, we are seeing real momentum, especially at All Saints’. We are excited about where God is leading us next.
- A supportive and prayerful community – Our PCC, pastoral teams, and congregations are committed, welcoming, and ready to support the right person in ministry.
We are looking for an experienced priest who:
- is grounded in prayer and scripture, and brings preaching to life.
- has a heart for pastoral care and spiritual formation.
- can lead with warmth, humour and vision.
- is confident in working with both tradition and innovation.
- will nurture lay leaders and engage with ‘all ages’, especially young families, children and youth.
- is ready to help us grow – in faith, in numbers, and in mission.
You’ll be supported by a well-maintained vicarage, a very strong diocesan and deanery network, and a parish that is full of potential and hope.
