About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their remote team, serving the George region and surrounding areas. This role is paramount in ensuring the reliable installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and network facilities. As a remote-first position, you will be empowered with the autonomy to manage your schedule and travel efficiently, supported by a strong virtual team and access to resources.
You will play a critical role in upholding service quality and customer satisfaction, contributing to the backbone of our client's communication network from the field, representing a commitment to technical excellence and remote operational efficiency.
- Perform installations, configurations, and repairs of telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and modems, in various field locations.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and adhering to service level agreements.
- Conduct routine maintenance and testing of network infrastructure to proactively identify and address potential problems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction with services rendered.
- Document all work performed, including site surveys, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions, using company-provided mobile applications.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company procedures while working in diverse environments.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Telecoms Technician or in a similar field role.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, including DSL, fiber optics, and wireless communication systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for network analysis and repair.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel frequently.
