Field Telecoms Technician

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Telecoms Technician to join their operations team based in George . This role is crucial for ensuring the physical installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and within our client's network facilities. You will be the frontline representative, providing essential technical support and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to resolving technical challenges efficiently to maintain optimal network performance and customer satisfaction throughout the Western Cape region .

• Install, test, and commission telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic cables, network cabinets, and customer premise equipment (CPE).
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure to prevent potential issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults reported by customers or network monitoring systems, ensuring timely resolution.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures while working on customer premises and at height.
• Provide technical assistance and training to end-users on equipment operation where necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of all service calls, installations, and repairs performed in the field.

• Proven experience as a Telecoms Technician or in a similar field service role.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications principles, including copper and fiber optic cabling, DSL, and mobile network technologies.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for testing and troubleshooting.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle physical demands of the job.
• Good communication and customer service skills, essential for client interactions in George .
