Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and instruct courses assigned by the Department Chairperson/supervisor, utilizing effective instructional strategies, learning management system, communication, classroom management, leadership, and instructional technology to promote student success (normal teaching contact hours per week are 18).Demonstrate best practices in instruction and classroom management that respond to diverse academic needs.Use instructional technology, including multimedia, to meet student learning needs and achieve the objectives of the program and College.Assist or lead in planning and developing new curriculum and courses; evaluate and revise existing curriculum; contribute to program review.Participate in planning and implementation of Student Learning Outcomes Assessment.Serve as an advisor for students, using effective advisement strategies, Student Educational Plan, and other tools to promote retention and progression.Assist students toward successful completion of courses by providing outreach, guidance, feedback, supplemental instruction, tutoring, and other approved academic support.Make oneself accessible and available to assist students, providing a minimum of six (6) posted office hours per week.Maintain adequate and timely student records; evaluate and report student progress and attendance.Work as a team member with other faculty and staff to facilitate College operations, achieve goals, and provide guidance to new and adjunct faculty as assigned.Assist in attaining and maintaining program accreditation.Complete the New Faculty Development Program (NFDP) during the one-year probationary period; complete the Instructional Design Technology Certificate or demonstrate mastery of its competencies.Continue professional development and growth, remaining current within the academic field/discipline.Participate in departmental, campus, College meetings; serve on campus or college-wide committees; advise student clubs and organizations as assigned.Participate in developing and implementing college policies, objectives, and functions, including departmental program planning, marketing, budget development, and public relations.Assist in supporting operations, events, and processes to enhance recruitment, enrollment, advisement, transfer, and graduate employment, as assigned.Participate in day, evening, and weekend program staffing as requested.Perform other related duties as required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Master’s degree preferred).
• Four (4) years of relevant work experience in nursing with a primary focus in psychiatric mental health nursing.
• Possession of, or eligibility for, a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in Delaware or a compact state at the time of application and during employment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of nursing subject matter, teaching methods, clinical skills, and nursing protocols; ability to communicate subject matter to a diverse population; ability to function in a clinical setting without limitation; must be able to meet the essential functions of a clinical faculty member.
