The Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care Specialist coordinates wound care therapy into the total nursing care plan for patients; participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Position reports to the Director of Wound Care.
- Education and Training:
Provides documents or credentials of graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a current Registered Nursing License for the state in which the employee is working. Certification from approved Wound Care Certification course is preferred. Has current CPR certification and maintains same. - Experience:
Two (2) years direct patient care experience required. Prefer experience in emergency care, critical care or ET nursing.
