Bccs Counselor Position

Bccs is seeking a full-time counselor for our first stop DUI program! Are you eager to assist a client through their mental health and substance use recovery process in an outpatient therapeutic setting? We are seeking a counselor to provide supportive, person-centered counseling services to individuals in a compassionate way. Please look at the highlights below.

What you'll do at bccs:

• Deliver quality and competent care to all bccs clients, to include but not limited to individual, family, and group counseling.
• Complete all scheduled intakes & assessments and make appropriate recommendations for either education or outpatient treatment.
• Create a treatment plan based on client's assessment.
• Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client's electronic record.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Facilitate groups using identified curriculum.
• Confer with the clinical supervisor on a daily basis for casing.
• Ensure that the DUI tracking system is updated within identified timeline with client status.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the clinical supervisor.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment clinical practices.
• Knowledge of population being served and available resources.
• Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress of clients.
• May require crisis intervention to emergency situations.
• Skill in establishing rapport with clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Requirements:

• Minimum of an associate degree with CADC, or bachelor's degree.
• Bachelor's degree in behavioral science or related field.
• 1 year experience in the substance abuse field and/or mental health.
• Within 2 years, must have obtained certification as CADC (certified alcohol and drug counselor).

Schedule:

• Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m.
  
  - 4:00 p.m.
• One late shift during the week of 12:00 p.m.
  
  - 8:00 p.m.
• Friday 7:00 a.m.
  
  - 3:00 p.m.

Salary:

• Starting at $21/hour.
• Commensurate with experience, education, and certification!
