Bccs Counselor Position
Bccs is seeking a full-time counselor for our first stop DUI program! Are you eager to assist a client through their mental health and substance use recovery process in an outpatient therapeutic setting? We are seeking a counselor to provide supportive, person-centered counseling services to individuals in a compassionate way. Please look at the highlights below.
What you'll do at bccs:
- Deliver quality and competent care to all bccs clients, to include but not limited to individual, family, and group counseling.
- Complete all scheduled intakes & assessments and make appropriate recommendations for either education or outpatient treatment.
- Create a treatment plan based on client's assessment.
- Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client's electronic record.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Facilitate groups using identified curriculum.
- Confer with the clinical supervisor on a daily basis for casing.
- Ensure that the DUI tracking system is updated within identified timeline with client status.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the clinical supervisor.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment clinical practices.
- Knowledge of population being served and available resources.
- Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress of clients.
- May require crisis intervention to emergency situations.
- Skill in establishing rapport with clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an associate degree with CADC, or bachelor's degree.
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral science or related field.
- 1 year experience in the substance abuse field and/or mental health.
- Within 2 years, must have obtained certification as CADC (certified alcohol and drug counselor).
Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m. - One late shift during the week of 12:00 p.m.
- 8:00 p.m. - Friday 7:00 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m.
Salary:
- Starting at $21/hour.
- Commensurate with experience, education, and certification!
