Data Analysis and Visualization Librarian -- University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press
The Data Analysis and Visualization Librarian supports researchers through expert consultation, instruction, and outreach for a variety of computational methods. Under the general supervision of the Head, Research Data and Design Commons, this position collaborates with groups across campus to advance data literacy, promote ethical and effective data practices, and contribute to emerging technology‑based research support initiatives. The incumbent provides vision and support for the new Data Analysis and Visualization Lab, supervises a graduate statistical specialist, and helps shape future services and technologies offered by Morris Library.
This role is part of the Research Data and Design Commons, a new department in the UD Library, Museums and Press that provides support for a range of technology‑based research services, including data services, institutional repositories, and research communication through various creative technologies. The staff collaborates with colleagues across the library, as well as with library IT services, the Research and Engagement Department, and the Student Success and Curriculum Partnerships Department, and a host of external partners.
Salary:
The position will be filled at one of two levels depending on candidate experience. Appointment in rank will be based on relevant professional experience (Senior Assistant Librarian, pay grade 30E; or Associate Librarian, pay grade 31E).
