The Cafe Supervisor oversees daily cafe operations, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth workflow, and adherence to quality and safety standards. This role leads the front-line team, supports scheduling and training, and helps maintain a welcoming, efficient environment for both customers and staff.

• Supervise daily cafe operations, including opening/closing procedures and shift transitions
• Lead, motivate, and coach baristas and cafe staff to deliver excellent customer service
• Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours
• Train new employees on menu items, equipment use, and customer service standards
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Handle customer complaints or escalated issues professionally and promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, kitchen, and seating areas
• Track sales, cash handling, and daily reports; assist with basic bookkeeping
• Assist management with performance reviews and staff development
• Ensure equipment (espresso machines, grinders, etc.) is properly maintained and serviced

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus
• 1–2+ years of experience in a cafe, coffee shop, or food service environment
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, food safety practices, and customer service standards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic proficiency with POS systems and scheduling software
• Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs (supply boxes, equipment, etc.)
• Comfortable working around hot equipment and in a fast-paced kitchen/cafe setting

• Full-time; may include early mornings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
