- Oversees crews installing signs or pavement markings (tape or paint).
- Prepares sites for sign installation.
- Determines proper layouts for intersection markings.
- Operates hand and power tools such as air hammers, pipe installers and pullers, saws, etc.
- Operates motor vehicles, tape machines, hand rollers and air compressors.
- Submits daily reports to account for materials, man-hours and equipment used.
- Maintains inventories of supplies.
- Provides training for less experienced installers.
Job Requirements for Traffic Sign Installer Specialist
- Six months experience in operating a variety of hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting or HVAC.
- Knowledge of interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. - This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
- All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
