Summary

The Propane Service Technician Apprentice assists the Service Technician on service calls. The goal is to deliver a positive customer service experience, improve customer satisfaction, maximize retention, and increase profitability. Responsibilities include site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with cleaning and servicing LP equipment during field visits
  • Assist with transporting, setting up, and installing LP equipment and tanks
  • Assist with installation and testing of propane lines and propane-powered appliances
  • Provide expert installation and repair service to a variety of LP equipment
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair heating and LP equipment
  • Follow all company field procedures and protocols
  • Be available for on‑call duties and cross‑train to make deliveries when needed
  • Work as a team member and maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Skills & Experience
  • Clean driving record and Class B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements
  • Gas Fitter License
  • Pass the Certified Employee Training Program (CETP) within the first year of employment
  • 2–3 years of LP service experience
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills
  • Desire to grow and accelerate with the company
  • Positive, upbeat attitude and strong team orientation
Working Conditions & Expectations

Driving a company vehicle to customers’ homes or businesses. The job is performed in the field, often in hot attics, cold places, or small working spaces, and may involve exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and extreme weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Occasionally, the employee must sit, climb, balance, stoop, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may need to pick up or move objects up to 50 pounds. The role requires clear vision, including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
