Summary Statement

In this role as a Health/Human Service Case Manager Supervisor, you will oversee a team of 7–10 staff who determine initial and ongoing eligibility for needs‑based benefits, including SNAP, Medical Assistance, CHIP, Subsidized Child Care, GA, and TANF. As a supervisor you will hire, train, coach, and ensure staff provide services promptly, efficiently, and within federal and state program guidelines.

Essential Functions
  • Supervise two or more full‑time merit positions, performing ongoing planning, assigning, reviewing, evaluating, coaching, training, disciplining, and recommending hiring, termination, and promotion.
  • Participate in program planning, implementation, and coordination to ensure compliance with department, federal, or state laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Gather and assimilate statistics and information to maintain program compliance.
  • Recommend and implement corrective action as necessary.
  • Coordinate with health and human service staff, agencies, providers, and resources to provide comprehensive, timely, efficient, and cost‑effective client services.
  • Represent the agency on task forces, committees, and with the general public.
  • Provide information to clients, the general public, community representatives, and other agencies to explain programs and policies.
  • Plan and develop programs that may include writing grant proposals, completing state clearing house documents, and implementing new grants when awarded.
  • Analyze budget needs, develop recommendations for staffing, supplies, and equipment, and monitor current expenditures.
  • Prepare statistical and program evaluation reports.
  • Use automated information systems and computer software to research, review, evaluate, and report on health/human service data.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, ages, and races.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
  • Three years' experience in case management, including assessing, planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating services to meet an individual's human service needs.
  • Three years' experience in making recommendations as part of a client's service plan such as clinical treatment, counseling, or determining eligibility for health or human services/benefits.
  • Six months' experience interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Six months' experience using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve, and report data.
  • Six months' experience in narrative report writing.
  • Experience or coursework in staff supervision, which may include performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others.
