Position Summary:
The Housing Department Facilities Office Assistant helps on‑campus residents maintain the highest quality of life in their living space by expediting maintenance and building services work requests to get them resolved as quickly as possible.

- Develop an extensive knowledge of maintenance‑related tasks and delegate these tasks to the appropriate staff member in a timely manner.
- Have a solid understanding of the housing campus layout and property numbers.
- Assist with administrative duties and create training material for Residential Program Services facilities staff.
- Escort contractors and outside vendors to specific work areas; assist the work control manager and work control assistant with key control for contractors and vendors needing access to buildings.
- Create work orders in AIM.
- Clean, wash, and maintain UGA vehicles and LSVs.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Must be enrolled on at least a half‑time basis at the University of Georgia when classes are in session (minimum six credit hours for undergraduate and professional students during fall/spring semesters; minimum five credit hours for graduate students during fall/spring semesters) and in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct and University Housing.
- Must not exceed 20 hours of work per week across all student staff positions (unless classes are not in session and prior permission is obtained) and may not exceed 6 consecutive hours per shift.
- Student employees are considered temporary employees; employment may be terminated at any time without notice.
- Physical demands consistent with a typical office environment; driving required. Must be able to interact with clients and staff under 18 and have security access.
- Background investigation required (criminal background check, credit check, reference checks).
- Communication methods: online work tickets, direct communication, email, two‑way radio, telephone.
- Office skills:
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database management, general office skills. - USG is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
