Job SummaryThe Production and Business Assistant reports to the Assistant Director for Publishing Operations for production duties and the Fiscal Affairs Manager for business duties. The role supports the financial management of the University Press and the production of books, including conversion of print books to e‑book formats, accessibility remediation, and print‑on‑demand vendor coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Arrange for accessibility remediation of backlist e‑books, troubleshoot vendor issues, perform quality checks, and upload remediated files to Core Source.
- Manage digitization of backlist titles, coordinate with scanning vendors for print‑ready and e‑book files, perform quality checks, and upload files to Core Source.
- Prepare and submit print files for backlist and some frontlist titles to POD vendors, ensuring permissions and format accuracy.
- Digitize contracts and reports, maintain digital file integrity.
- Document and maintain internal workflows and operating procedures.
- Compile and reconcile data to create reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned with flexibility and awareness of department needs.
- Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred:
Completion of college‑level coursework in a related field, or relevant certifications, or equivalent professional experience. - Experience with design, production management, editorial, and/or business tasks in a publishing environment.

Full Time (FTE 1.0) - Term:
Limited‑term appointment, expected to end 12 months after start date; may be extended with funding. - Benefits:
