The University of Georgia (UGA) invites qualified candidates to join the Receiving and Mail Services team as a full‑time temporary worker, working in the FD‑Mail & Receiving Services department, located in Athens, Georgia.
Advertised Salary: $13.50 per hour. Anticipated
Start Date:
12/18/2023.
- Assist Mail & Receiving drivers with deliveries to the main campus and Health Science campus, ride as a passenger in delivery vehicles, and distribute mail and packages to departments.
- Assist with unloading UGA mail from UGA vehicles, and assist drivers in loading and unloading the UGA delivery vehicles.
- Assist with sorting residence hall mail each morning and deliver to designated mailrooms for the residence halls.
- Assist with bulk mail projects, including envelope stuffing, collating, or bag filling tasks as assigned.
- Dependable, punctual, good attitude, willingness to learn, teamwork, effective communicator and active listener.
- Work experience, including summer jobs, internships and volunteer work.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant education and experience are preferred.
Frequent standing and walking for prolonged periods; occasional push, pull, lift and movement of heavy items.
Position of TrustYes. The position requires operation, access, or control of security access (public safety, etc.) but does not involve direct interaction or care of children, patients, or require a P‑Card.
