A Trucking Safety Compliance Assistant
, supports a company’s safety and regulatory compliance programs, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and industry safety standards while maintaining accurate, audit-ready records.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive individual committed to upholding DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA regulations. The assistant plays a key role in monitoring safety documentation, conducting compliance audits, and coordinating training and incident reporting to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Safety & Compliance Monitoring: Maintain and update safety-related records such as driver qualification files, incident reports, training records, inspection logs, and ELD logs.
- Audit Support: Conduct or assist in audits of safety and compliance paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Incident Reporting: Support incident documentation by gathering facts, verifying reports, and ensuring proper follow-up.
- Training Coordination: Organize and schedule safety training, certifications, and employee communications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current on DOT, FMCSA, and other relevant regulations; prepare for audits and ensure documentation meets requirements.
- Data Management: Use document management systems or compliance software to track and report safety metrics.
- Cross-Functional Support: Assist with driver qualification management, vehicle licensing, fuel processes, and compliance reporting.
- Confidentiality: Protect sensitive safety and compliance information.
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–2 years experience in administrative, safety, or compliance roles, preferably in trucking, logistics, or a regulated industry
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and document management systems
- Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations and compliance processes
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

Job Type – Full time position (40 hours per week or more) Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM in-office at our Versailles, OH location
Career Level – Entry to Mid-Level
Education Level – High School Diploma (additional college level work or professional experience is a plus)
Work Environment – Office-based position that involves coordination with drivers and operations teams
