Overview
We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to support a large-scale construction project with a leading electrical contractor. This role is ideal for a motivated safety professional with early-career experience in construction who is eager to grow while supporting a strong safety culture in a dynamic project environment. This position will primarily support night shift operations
.
Start Date: April 2026
Contract Duration: Through April 2027 (with potential for extension)
Responsibilities- Partner with Foremen and Superintendents to develop and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Conduct daily field safety walks to assess compliance and identify potential hazards
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of site-specific safety programs
- Collaborate with field teams to develop corrective action plans for safety concerns
- Provide coaching and mentoring to reinforce safe work behaviors and practices
- Assist with new hire safety orientations and onboarding processes
- Deliver and support safety training (e.g., Haz Com, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tagout)
- Participate in incident investigations, including documentation and root cause analysis
- Assist in managing injury/illness cases and reporting requirements
- Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment to ensure safe operation
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety standards and regulations
- Support weekly toolbox talks and daily pre-task safety meetings
- Evaluate effectiveness of safety meetings, crew engagement, and stretch-and-flex programs
- Provide ongoing feedback to project leadership to enhance safety performance
- Proven construction safety experience (electrical construction experience preferred)
- Familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA, NESC, ANSI, and ASTM
- OSHA 30 Construction required
- Experience working with union labor environments is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and coach field personnel
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Construction Management, or related field preferred
