Reporting to the Director of Research and Planning, the Coordinator, Institutional Research and Assessment will provide research and support in the areas of outcomes assessment (instructional and non-instructional), program review, continuous improvement, and institutional research. This position will oversee Watermark products including Planning & Self-Study, Student Learning & Licensure, and Course Evaluation & Surveys; perform statistical analyses, interpret results, conduct survey research, and other research tasks in support of the College planning cycle.
Responsibilities- Oversee administration, training, and data management for Watermark products:
Planning & Self-Study (for strategic planning and accreditation self-studies), Student Learning & Licensure (for student learning outcomes and e-portfolios), and Course Evaluation & Surveys (for course feedback and institutional surveys). - Coordinate and support the College’s annual outcomes assessment processes, including college-wide General Education student learning outcomes.
- Works with campus departments to review, evaluate, write, and complete annual outcomes assessment, including learning outcomes, program outcomes, administrative, and outcomes.
- Designs and conducts training sessions to enhance understanding of outcomes assessments, program reviews, and strategic planning.
- Helps Director of Planning and Research maintain records and reporting for regional accreditor (SACSCOC).
- Manage the program review process including planning, coordinating, and providing analyses for program review reports.
- Provide regular feedback and guidance to administrators, faculty, and staff completing program reviews, assessments, and other research initiatives.
- Perform research to support program review for academic and administrative areas.
- Recommend and implement improvements to outcomes assessment, program review, continuous improvement processes, and research related directives.
- Serve on Institutional committees to support the College Strategic Plan.
- Administers surveys and summarizes survey data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Arranges and helps facilitate the details of all annual planning meetings.
- Uses standard Informer queries to obtain data from the College’s database to support the assessment, evaluation, planning, and reporting functions.
- Assists with acquiring data, authoring, and editing institutional documents such as Campus-Wide Outcomes, and each of the College’s Strategic Planning documents.
- Maintains the confidentiality and security of all institutional and system data.
- Design, administer, tabulate, and analyze surveys and assessment materials.
- Maintain Research and Planning databases, files, and process documentation related to assessment, program review, and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with all College personnel to accomplish functions and responsibilities to implement the College Strategic Plan.
- Provide necessary training to faculty and staff related to research and planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preference given to candidates with a degree in English, Communications, Library Science, or a related field and one to two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Understanding of relational datasets.
- Prefer experience with higher education accrediting bodies, community colleges, and Ellucian (Colleague).
- Must demonstrate excellent writing and analysis skills.
- Must demonstrate skills using the Microsoft Office Suite and be comfortable using a variety of Excel functions.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, and work in a team environment.
- The ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
