Position: Art History Instructor - Athens Campus, School of Art + Design (POOL POSTING)

Art History Instructor – Athens Campus, School of Art + Design (Pool Posting)

We are looking for industry professionals for potential instructional opportunities in Art + Design. Applications to this pool will be utilized to fill non‑tenure track, non‑benefits eligible Instructor positions for delivering in‑person courses at the Athens Campus for our Art History Department during the 2026/2027 academic year.

Responsibilities

Deliver in‑person courses at the Athens Campus for the Art History Department during the 2026/2027 academic year.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Art + Design (or related field) by the start date of appointment, or an equivalent amount of education or experience in accordance with Ohio University policy 18.001.
  • 18 credits or more of graduate level Art History.
  • Ability to develop, and/or update, course curriculum and curriculum delivery materials/modes.
  • Experience with Learning Management Software/Platforms.
  • Ability to teach both large, lecture‑based surveys and small, specialized topic courses.

  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Cover Letter detailing interest or teaching philosophy.
  • List of three professional references (current contact information).
  • Example of a syllabus you developed.
