Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.
Major ResponsibilitiesPROGRAM OPERATION: Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements. Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submit requested information within established timelines.
STUDENTS: Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
INSTRUCTION: Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. In event of emergency absence, notify program/department chair. Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote the same as an integral part of one’s work.
Minimum Qualifications- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Has a minimum of 2 years directly related work experience.
- Holds certification or licensure in a health care discipline providing care or service directly to patients.
- Meets the Healthcare Specialist Program Standard.
- Possesses an earned associates degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution with at least 5 years directly related work experience.
- Possesses current certification in Dementia Care.
- Possesses an earned associate’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Is a licensed Registered Nurse holding an unencumbered license in the state of Indiana.
- Has a minimum of two years licensed nursing experience, of which at least one year must be in the provision of long term care services.
- Completed the required Indiana state department of health instructor QMA course.
- Possesses an earned associate’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Is a registered Nurse.
- Has a minimum of two years licensed nursing experience, of which at least one year must be in the provision of home health care.
- Completed the required train the trainer sessions from the Indiana Home and Hospice Care Foundation.
- Is a licensed Registered Nurse holding an unencumbered license in the state of Indiana.
- Has a minimum of two years of licensed nursing experience, at least one of which must be experience in an acute care setting.
- Access to a comprehensive vision care plan with low-cost exams and allowances for glasses or contact lenses.
