This position is for the  school year

Teacher

• College diploma or bachelor degree preferred
• Certification from the Kentucky Educational Professional Standards Board in the area(s) for which person will be teaching
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

• Plan lessons and choose instructional materials based on curriculum and student needs
• Use a variety of instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of students
• Implement instructional programs as established through district and state guidelines
• Manage time efficiently to maximize instructional time
• Create and maintain an atmosphere with consistent standards conducive to learning
• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute as a member of school and district professional learning communities
• Evaluate academic performance and progress of students regularly
• Communicate student performance and progress to parents and guardians following school and district guidelines
• Work with all school staff to meet and identify the needs of individual students
• Participate in professional development and follow guidelines and accommodations for student special needs
• Work with principal and others to obtain and practice professional growth opportunities
• Practice and support student safety during drills and emergencies
• Maintain updated inventory records of classroom materials and follow guidelines for appropriate use of supplies needed for the instructional program
• Supervise students during school and school‑sponsored events
• Administer student diagnostic, achievement, and other tests and assessments following district and state testing guidelines and regulations
• Play an active role in developing and implementing curriculum related to standards
• Input, calculate, and maintain all necessary records according to state law, district policy, and administrative regulations
• Serve on school committees related to the selection of instructional materials and school improvement
• Accept a share of responsibility for co‑curricular activities as assigned
• Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others
• Adhere to professional code of ethics for certified personnel and all board policies
• Participate in peer reviews and teacher leadership activities
• Integrate technology and supplemental materials to support curriculum
• Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign

Days and salary pursuant to district salary schedules

• Strictly adhere to the Kentucky Certified Code of Ethics (704 KAR 20:680)
• Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, written language, and hearing
• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light objects and students up to 25 lbs.
