All-School Campus Minister Teacher Job Description

Our Lady of the Elms School, a private Catholic school rooted in the Dominican tradition, educates girls and young women to live their lives boldly with purpose, confidence, kindness, resilience, justice, and faith.

As the only all-girls, faith-based K–12 school in Summit County, the Elms is seeking a Part‑Time All‑School Campus Minister for the 2026‑2027 academic year beginning in August 2026. The Campus Minister will work under the supervision of the Principal and be supported by a Team Lead.

The ideal candidate will cultivate an inviting, spiritually dynamic environment that inspires students to explore their faith, lead with purpose, and live out the school’s Dominican values both on campus and in the wider community.

Major Responsibilities Forming a Faith Community
  • Facilitates an atmosphere of Christian hospitality where all feel welcome, based on Catholic faith traditions and rituals
  • Acknowledges and celebrates diversity within the school community
  • Communicates regularly with the principal, chaplain, faculty, staff, students, and parents regarding campus ministry activities, programs, and projects
  • Works collaboratively with the administration in the development of faith-centered programs that involve alumni, benefactors, and parents
Spiritual Growth
  • Provides opportunities for others to deepen their relationship with Christ
  • Organizes, plans, and implements an effective retreat program for students, faculty, parents, and staff that contributes to community building, faith development, evangelization, and leadership enrichment
Prayer and Sacramental Experiences
  • Offers a variety of prayer experiences, both personal, communal, and seasonal
  • Provides opportunities for students, staff, and faculty to celebrate the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Reconciliation, including penance services during Advent and Lent
  • Coordinates liturgical celebrations, including monthly school‑wide or class Masses, daily Masses, and faculty Masses, with the school chaplain, other priests on faculty, or local parish priests
  • Organizes training for liturgical ministers, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, lectors, servers, and all other students involved with liturgical celebrations
  • Assists the choir and choir director in the selection of appropriate sacred music that will enhance student participation at school liturgies
  • Coordinates the use of the chapel
Professional Growth & Communication
  • Maintain contact with students and parents through effective and regular communication
  • Update student grades and academic reports on a weekly basis to maintain accurate and transparent progress tracking
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development days, open houses, accreditation sessions, and Diocesan‑mandated training to stay current in your content area and aligned with accreditation standards
  • Faith‑Based Spirituality:
    Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spirituality; participate with your students in Catholic celebrations; demonstrate a commitment to the Dominican pillars of study, preaching, community, and prayer in your teaching
Salary Range

20 hours per week at $15–25 per hour, varying by years of experience, multiple credentials, extra services, and academic recommendations.

Core Qualifications
  • Experience in a Catholic learning environment preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in religious studies or equivalent
  • Complete the Diocese of Cleveland's Virtus:
    Protecting God’s Children training prior to employment
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check (BCI/FBI)
  • Practicing Catholic with an active sacramental and faith life and in good standing with the Church
