Salary: $18.27/hr – $20.07/hr plus Critical Need Stipend $3.50/hr and ECE Instructional Assistant Stipend $1.00/hr
Information regarding Exceptional Child Education (ECE) classrooms: Exceptional Child Education programs are designed to meet the needs of students whose approach to learning differs from their peers. The district provides individualized instruction, techniques, methods, and materials. Programs serve students with disabilities in Comprehensive and special education settings, including Moderate to Severe Disabilities (MSD), Mild Mental Disabilities (MMD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD), Autism (AUT), Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impairment (HI), Learning Disabilities (LD), and Social Communication, or combinations thereof.
Assignment or designation changes may occur during or between school years based on student and classroom needs.
- Recognizes that all responsibilities are supportive.
- Assists in implementing each student’s Individual Education Plan.
- Helps establish and maintain a pleasant, safe, and structured learning environment.
- Displays willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para educator Exam (KPA) or 48 college semester hours.
- Willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- Physical ability and willingness to assist with positioning, toileting, and lifting of students.
- Willingness to attend district ECE in‑service professional growth sessions.
