Intervention Specialist

Location: Newark, OH

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring goals are tailored to their unique learning styles and abilities.
• Provide direct instruction to students in small groups or one‑on‑one settings, focusing on academic subjects and essential life skills.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create a cohesive support network for students.
• Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and adjust instructional strategies as needed to maximize learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior, adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
• Foster a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes inclusivity, respect, and academic growth.

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Ohio Intervention Specialist teaching license (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation processes, as well as familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
