Intermediate Teacher
Scott County School District – Northern Elementary School (035) – Georgetown, Kentucky.
Responsibilities- Plans lessons and chooses instructional materials based on curriculum and student needs.
- Uses a variety of instructional techniques to meet diverse student needs.
- Implements instructional programs established through district and state guidelines.
- Manages time wisely to maximize instruction.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere with consistent standards conducive to learning.
- Collaborates with other teachers and contributes as a member of school and district professional learning communities.
- Evaluates academic performance and progress of students regularly.
- Communicates student performance and progress to parents and guardians following school and district guidelines.
- Works with all school staff to meet and identify needs of individual students.
- Participates in professional development and follows guidelines and accommodations for special needs.
- Works with principal and others to obtain and practice professional growth opportunities.
- Practices and supports student safety during drills and emergencies.
- Maintains updated inventory records of classroom materials and follows guidelines in appropriation of supplies.
- Supervises students during school and school-sponsored events.
- Administers student diagnostics, achievement, and other tests and assessments following district and state testing guidelines and regulations.
- Plays an active role in developing and implementing curriculum related to standards.
- Inputs, calculates, and maintains all necessary records according to state law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Serves on school committees related to the selection of instructional materials and school improvement.
- Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
- Adheres to the professional code of ethics for certified personnel and all board policies.
- Participates in peer reviews and teacher leadership activities.
- Integrates technology and supplemental materials to support curriculum.
- Performs additional tasks as directed by the Principal.
- College diploma.
- Certification from Kentucky Educational Professional Standards Board in the area(s) to be taught.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Strictly adheres to the Kentucky Certified Code of Ethics.
- Work performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
- Ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, written language, and hearing.
- Ability to use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull light objects and students up to 25 lbs.
Days and salary pursuant to district salary schedules.
