• Plans lessons and chooses instructional materials based on curriculum and student needs.
• Uses a variety of instructional techniques to meet diverse student needs.
• Implements instructional programs established through district and state guidelines.
• Manages time wisely to maximize instruction.
• Creates and maintains an atmosphere with consistent standards conducive to learning.
• Collaborates with other teachers and contributes as a member of school and district professional learning communities.
• Evaluates academic performance and progress of students regularly.
• Communicates student performance and progress to parents and guardians following school and district guidelines.
• Works with all school staff to meet and identify needs of individual students.
• Participates in professional development and follows guidelines and accommodations for special needs.
• Works with principal and others to obtain and practice professional growth opportunities.
• Practices and supports student safety during drills and emergencies.
• Maintains updated inventory records of classroom materials and follows guidelines in appropriation of supplies.
• Supervises students during school and school-sponsored events.
• Administers student diagnostics, achievement, and other tests and assessments following district and state testing guidelines and regulations.
• Plays an active role in developing and implementing curriculum related to standards.
• Inputs, calculates, and maintains all necessary records according to state law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
• Serves on school committees related to the selection of instructional materials and school improvement.
• Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
• Adheres to the professional code of ethics for certified personnel and all board policies.
• Participates in peer reviews and teacher leadership activities.
• Integrates technology and supplemental materials to support curriculum.
• Performs additional tasks as directed by the Principal.

• College diploma.
• Certification from Kentucky Educational Professional Standards Board in the area(s) to be taught.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

• Strictly adheres to the Kentucky Certified Code of Ethics.
• Work performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
• Ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, written language, and hearing.
• Ability to use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull light objects and students up to 25 lbs.
