Job SummaryThe Instructional Aide – Special Education / Emotionally Disabled (0.875 FTE) understands and supports the academic, behavioral, and emotional development of students with emotional and behavioral disabilities under the direction of certified staff. The aide fosters a structured, inclusive learning environment through behavioral interventions, individualized instructional support, and collaboration with the school's multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include modeling appropriate behavior, promoting positive peer interactions, and ensuring safe participation in general and specialized classroom settings.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Current Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education, valid in Lakota Local Schools.
- Successful completion of applicable training such as CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention as required.
- Experience working with students with emotional or behavioral challenges preferred.
7 hours per day, 5 days per week, 184 days based on a school year calendar.
SalaryPer the current Lakota salary schedule, starting at $18.52 per hour plus $1.50 differential per hour based on verified experience.
