  • Support the Special Education Coordinator in ensuring the school’s Special Education Program achieves its goals and complies with relevant guidelines and applicable state and federal laws
  • Assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures related to the Special Education program
  • Help develop and implement a results-oriented program design aligned with the K12 curriculum
  • Assist in ensuring Special Education teachers meet required standards and expectations
  • Assist with promoting teacher professional development through training
  • Assist with Special Education compliance documentation required by the state
  • Assist with developing and disseminating best practices for Special Education programs in a virtual school setting
  • Travel for testing, professional development, and meetings
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate
  • Two (2) years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Understanding of state standards and state and federal regulations
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time for testing, professional development, and meetings
  • Ability to pass required background check
  • Applicants must be willing and able to obtain Ohio Certification
  • Ohio residents preferred; applicants from Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana may be considered within one hundred miles of the Ohio border
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience in Special Education preferred
