The Traveling Safety Representative – Dedicated is responsible for ensuring safety productivity and compliance across a designated geographical area of accounts. The role emphasizes managing safety functions and conducting hands‑on training to equip safety, operations, and maintenance teams with the skills to identify and resolve safety issues effectively. Extensive travel within the assigned region is required, with 75% of time spent traveling.
EssentialJob Functions
- Oversee safety requirements across multiple accounts, including orientation, training, accident reviews, and drug screen collection.
- Conduct hands‑on training sessions on pre‑trip inspections, coupling/uncoupling, and specific safety maneuvers, providing demonstrations and constructive feedback.
- Perform daily checks at various locations, assess equipment for damage, and verify inspection report accuracy.
- Lead account‑specific orientations for new and temporary drivers at multiple sites.
- Conduct individual safety counseling sessions with drivers, collaborating with operations and maintenance teams.
- Partner with on‑site personnel to address safety concerns and identify training needs.
- Provide 24‑hour on‑call safety support within the assigned area as needed.
- Execute additional duties as directed.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety procedures, policies, and federal regulations.
- Strong skills in one‑on‑one and group instructional techniques.
- Proficient in safety‑related decision‑making, customer service, and communication.
- Ability to work in diverse outdoor environments and manage high‑pressure situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office technology.
- Highly adaptable, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Availability to travel frequently within the assigned region (75%).
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework is preferred. Experience in transportation safety, public speaking, or adult education. Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within 90 days. Exemplary motor vehicle record.
Physical Requirements- 75‑100% standing and walking.
- 25‑49% climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling.
- 0‑24% dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, and writing.
- 75‑100% lift in excess of 10 pounds.
The expected starting pay range for this position is $50,076.00 – $66,768.00 annualized salary. Offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
